New Building

Energy efficient new building for Potsdam-Institute for Climate Impact Research

Until summer 2015 a new office building for 191 employees is being build in close neighborhood to the Einsteinturm and the Großer Refraktor. The basement floor will hold the new data processor. It is the aim of PIK to achieve a signal effect for energy efficient building.
To this end, PIK is cooperating with TU Dresden to analyze and optimize the energy efficiency of the building in a joint research project founded by BMWi. Furthermore, a solution for setting up an energy concept for the whole of Telegrafenberg will be developed.
