Statistical crop yield models

  • ABSOLUT - was designed to relate crop yields to weather effects in subregions of a larger model domain. A brute-force machine learning approach identifies the most critical weather features per crop and subregion.
  • IRMA - works with relative yield changes between subsequent years which filters out noise from gradual environmental shifts during the calibration period, e.g. an altering agro-political framework.
