Welcome to ClimateImpactsOnline! How many hot days could your region have in the 2050s? How will precipitation, snow cover, the water balance or crop yields change? The portal of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK)  via https://www.klimafolgenonline.com makes such questions visible in maps, diagrams and tables – for Germany down to the district level, for Bavaria, Europe and further regions in Africa, Asia and South America. Compare periods from the past to 2100, switch between a scenario with strong climate protection and one with high emissions, and show the change against 1991–2020. Every variable comes with an information text, and all data shown can be downloaded – a basis for understanding the impacts of climate change and for planning adaptation. The portal is available in many languages, including the languages of the regions shown.
As part of two environmental education projects—PIKee and PIKeeBB—the portal was further developed for use in schools. When accessing the portal application for Germany, the educational version with relevant content is available.
