As early and accurate as possible forecasts of crop yields are of interest not only to farmers and grain traders. At PIK, applicable weather-based models are being developed primarily to project the long-term yield effects of climate change; current forecasts arise as a by-product of the model validation process. On these pages, we present the current predictions obtained with the ABSOLUT model in comparison with official forecasts.
