27/02/2019 - Petra Lasch-Born and Felicitas Suckow invited the 4C-community to a colloquium on the past, present and future of their life-time achievement: the development of forestry model "4C".
40 scientists gathered at PIK to celebrate the achievements of Petra Lasch-Born and Felicitas Suckow, two of the founders of the 4C model, who are retiring in 2018/2019. After a range of presentations from different guests and long-time collaborators and the official open-sourcing of the 4C model, the team celebrated with an impressive "Baumkuchen". With the model code being fully open access now, the main tool for regional forest analysis at PIK is now available to a wider research community.
