Kanwal Nayan Singh

Doctoral Researcher

Kanwal Nayan Singh is a Doctoral Researcher pursuing his PhD from University of Potsdam on the topic of Exploring the spatial patterns and the role of climatic and anthropogenic factors in Himalayan region. He also works on data visualization for East Africa Peru India Climate Capacities (EPICC) project, his research areas are data visualization, natural resources management, climate change and socio-economic assessments. Before joining PIK he was a Research Associate at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi and a Associate faculty at TERI University . He has led assignments in developing methods and applications for land use analysis, forestry, soil and water assessment, climate modelling, hotspot analysis, and urban environment indicators. He is trained in Geoinformatics and Computer Sciences. He has worked in projects supported by Global Green Growth Institute, Wellcome Trust, Economic Research Institute of ASEAN and East Asia and state forestry departments.
