Mira Kopp

Mira Kopp is a doctoral researcher in the Working Group Cities: Data Science and Sustainable Planning. Her research focuses on understanding context-sensitive climate action and circular economy strategies across cities, built environments and social groups. Trained as an industrial ecologist at Leiden University and TU Delft and with a background in environmental sociology and human geography from the University of Freiburg and University College London, she aims to understand the preconditions that enable societies to move towards more equitable and sustainable housing practices for all within planetary boundaries. 

Her PhD research under the topic “Local climate change mitigation potentials: Contextualising low-demand strategies that jointly address construction, building energy use and transport impacts” is supervised by Prof. Dr. Galina Churkina, Head of the Urban Ecosystem Science Group at TU Berlin, and Prof. Dr. Felix Creutzig, Head of the Working Group Cities: Data Science and Sustainable Planning and Professor of Innovation and Policy Acceleration & Bennett Institute Chair at the University of Sussex.
