During his Physics Master at Humboldt University of Berlin, Lukas specialized on non-linear dynamics, complex systems and agent-based modeling. With this set of tools, he carried out his thesis here at PIK as part of the WhESA team by developing and investigating a social contagion model with methods of statistical physics and network theory.
As of 2025, Lukas is working on the TIPMIP project and further developing the TOAD- and PONDS-package.
