M.Sc. Lukas Röhrich

Doctoral Researcher
Röhrich

My PhD research is part of the SURPRISES project, which investigates future storylines in the context of coastal systems in various regions of Africa. As a socio-ecological modeler I am interested in the interface of qualitative and quantitative research, and on how to ethically integrate stakeholders into the modeling process.

During my Physics Master at Humboldt University of Berlin, I specialized on non-linear dynamics, complex systems and agent-based modeling. With this set of tools, I carried out my thesis here at PIK as part of the WhESA team by developing and investigating a social contagion model with methods of statistical physics and network theory.
