My main research interest are tropical forests, in particular their the stability, and change thereof, under climate change.

Nowadays, remote sensing provides up to a few decades of earth observation data, including various vegetation products of different spatial and temporal extent and resolution, as well as estimating different vegetation traits. While these products allow data extensive approaches to monitoring vegetation resilience, this is still challenging for tropical forests, for which remote sensing is particularly challenging due to various factors such as the high density of biomass and clouds.

In my work, I aim to improve the robustness of resilience estimations by mainly two approaches: first, by using resilience estimators that are tailored to the system, and second, by exploring suitable combinations of data sets and resilience estimators.
