Dr. Nyasulu is a complex systems scientist focused on the interactions between Earth’s terrestrial systems, finance, and risk. His current work focuses on methods development and practical application to different sectors. He also work on non-climate-related nature scenario development to map ecosystems shocks and their impact on the economy and finance. His research informs the integration of tipping points, planetary boundaries, and sustainable finance mechanisms to inform business practices transformation towards sustainability. Before joining the University of Oxford as a Post-doctoral Researcher, he completed his PhD at the Stockholm Resilience Centre and was a guest researcher at PIK. His research examined the double materiality of climate, water, and land use, particularly in the agricultural sector, and explores their connections with socio-ecological systems.
