I am a PhD student in the Planetary Boundaries Science Lab at PIK. Broadly, my work here focuses on the ocean's role in the stability of the Earth system. More specifically, I am interested in the ocean's ability to buffer climate change by taking up heat and CO₂, and how it might change under altered climate states.

In my research, I make combined use of observational data and Earth system models, including in-house models like the Potsdam Earth Model (POEM). My aim is to investigate potential limits of the ocean's climate buffering capacity by assessing how the ocean's uptake, transport, and storage of heat and carbon might change in the future.
