Florian Nachtigall is a PhD candidate at the Technical University of Berlin, supervised by Prof. Dr. Felix Creutzig and associated with the "Cities" working group of RD5 “Climate Economics and Policy (MCC Berlin)”. As part of the AI4UP project, he aims to advance low-carbon urban planning using geospatial data and machine learning. His research focuses on estimating the effects of transport policies and infrastructure interventions on travel behavior and related GHG emissions using causal machine learning.
In addition, he co-developed and continues to advance the European building stock database EUBUCCO, as well as a global Cities Explorer for an urban typology developed for the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Cities. His personal website can be found here.
