Fabio Ascione is a visiting researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). His research focuses on the intersection of environmental, trade, and inequality research, with a methodological emphasis on modern quantitative data analysis, econometrics, and input-output analysis. At PIK, he worked in the FutureLab Social Metabolism and Impacts, focusing on the quantification and analysis of greenhouse gas emissions from the German tourism industry.
He holds a master’s degree in economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) and received a PhD in economics from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. Previously, he worked as a Junior Policy Analyst at the OECD in Paris and as a research associate at the Netherlands Bureau of Economic Policy Analysis in The Hague.
