Henry Engelhardt is a PhD student in the Hydroclimatic Risks Working Group in the Climate Resilience Department. His current work focuses on the links between human health and climatic and hydrological change in sub-Saharan Africa. Henry uses the eco-hydrological model SWIM and is involved in its development.

Henry studied B.Sc. Meteorology at the University of Leipzig and M.Sc. International Area Studies at the LMU Halle-Wittenberg. In his bachelor thesis he investigated changes in the jet stream under Arctic forcing using the ECHAM6 model. His master thesis was carried out at PIK and used SWIM to investigate changes in groundwater recharge associated with forest restructuring in Brandenburg.
