Clara Bachorz

Doctoral Researcher
Bachorz

Clara Bachorz is a Doctoral Researcher in the Energy Transition Lab at PIK since November 2022. Her research is supervised by Prof. Dr. Gunnar Luderer and Prof. Dr. Falko Ueckerdt and focuses on the role of hydrogen in hard-to-abate sectors. Her recent work uses techno-economic analysis to derive the landscapes of abatement for hard-to-electrify sectors and to identify robust decarbonization pathways under uncertain technological development. Clara is currently working on steel sector decarbonization using the energy-economy model REMIND.

Clara Bachorz has a background in Physics, and holds an MPhil degree from the University of Cambridge, as well as a Masters degree in Physics from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich. In her Masters thesis she worked on studying topological theories using ultracold atoms.
