PIK alumna heads Natural History Museum Vienna

June 2020 – Dr. Katrin Vohland, a former member of PIK's Research Department Earth System Analysis, has been appointed General Director and CEO of the Natural History Museum Vienna (Naturhistorisches Museum Wien – NHM). Katrin coordinated the BfN-funded project Schutzgebiete Deutschlands im Klimawandel – Risiken und Handlungsoptionen / Protected areas in Germany under Climate Change  Risks and Policy Options at PIK from 2006-2009, before moving on to Museum für Naturkunde Berlin ‑ Leibniz Institute for Evolution and Biodiversity Research. There she coordinated major projects with a particular focus on the areas of Citizen Science, political consulting and biodiversity research.
