CDR Synthese- und Transferprojekt für CDRterra Phase 2 -Teilprojekt Transformationspfade und Evidenzsynthese
CDRSynTra2 orchestrates the scientific synthesis of the CDRterra projects, in line with CDRmare, for an integrated evaluation focusing on land-based Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) methods. It will design low-risk CDR pathways for the EU, evaluate mitigation efficiency of CDR portfolios and update and apply the joint CDRterra Assessment Framework (AF) of CDRterra’s phase 1. It will engage with the international research landscape and contribute to major international assessments. CDRSynTra2 will conduct knowledge transfer and communication activities, including stakeholder engagement and collaboration with political and administrative institutions, and contributions to Education for Sustainable Development. Science communication research supports these efforts. The overarching goal is to provide a knowledge-base to develop CDR pathways and guide their sustainable implementation to reach Germany’s net-zero targets. CDRSynTra2 will also coordinate the exchange across CDRterra, facilitate transparent research and ensure good scientific practice. In WP3 we will collaborate internationally to synthesize global evidence on CDR, providing crucial input for other project tasks and for international science assessments.
