International media were particularly interested to learn about the German perspective as the negotiations for the formation of a new government were taking place simultaneously. Associated Press Associated Press recorded interviews with PIK director Hans Joachim Schellnhuber at the beginning as well as PIK´s chief economist Ottmar Edenhofer at the end of COP23. News agencies dpa, Reuters and the French AFP also spoke to the experts as did Chinese Xinhua, ABC News and the British Guardian.

The top German media of course also took the opportunity to gather firsthand expertise from the scientists present in Bonn, but also in Potsdam. ARD Mittagsmagazin talked to Anders Levermann, WDR Aktuelle Stunde interviewed Schellnhuber at the beginning and Edenhofer at the end of COP23. ZDF´s Berlin direkt spoke with Edenhofer, so did Süddeutsche, Handelsblatt, Frankfurter Rundschau, tagesschau.de or Deutschlandfunk. The latter also interviewed  Hans Joachim Schellnhuber who also spoke to Stern, FAZ, Bayerischer Rundfunk, tagesschau.de and WAZ. Both Schellnhuber and Edenhofer were interviewed by Brandenburg local newspaper PNN. Hermann Lotze-Campen spoke with Berliner Zeitung, Bayerischer Rundfunk or Augsburger Allgemeine to name just a few. ZDF/3sat´s tv magazine scobel invited Anders Levermann to discuss the ongoing negotiations, but also interviewed Stefan Rahmstorf.
