"Equal opportunities and diversity are an essential element of strategic decisions and living scientific culture for the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research," the jury praised PIK, an institution in the Leibniz Association. This is expressed, for example, in a variety of measures in fields of action such as the compatibility of family and career. "By anchoring the topic in the PIK statutes, we have been able to significantly strengthen the institutionalisation of gender equality in recent years," says Christine von Bloh, Equal Opportunities Officer at PIK. "I am therefore very pleased that we have not only been awarded the Total E-Quality award for the fourth time, but also have been honoured for exemplary commitment in the field of diversity for the first time this year."

Total E-Quality stands for Total Quality Management (TQM), complemented by the gender component (Equality), the equality of women and men. The award recognizes the initiative of organizations to implement equal opportunities through self-commitment and transparency. In addition to the compatibility of career and family, aspects such as personnel recruitment and development, the promotion of cooperative behaviour in the workplace and the consideration of equal opportunities in the Institute's principles are also important.
