PIK again among the world's best climate think tanks

31/01/2020 - For 2019, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) was again one of the most influential think tanks in the field of environmental policy. That is the result of this year's "Global Go To Think Tank Index Report" published by the University of Pennsylvania. The ranking includes more than 6,500 institutions worldwide.

For the eleventh time in a row, PIK is among the world's leading think tanks in its field - even though it is actually a research institute with a focus on scientific publications. As the world's number two in the category "Top Environment Policy Think Tank", PIK is positioned right behind the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and ahead of highly renowned institutions such as the World Resources Institute and the Brookings Institution in Washington D.C.

In addition, PIK also ranks among the "Top Think Tanks Worldwide", the "Top Think Tanks in Western Europe", the "Top Energy and Resource Policy Think Tanks", the "Best Government Affiliated Think Tanks" and the think tanks with most influence on policy making. The annual ranking has been published since 2008 and is based on international surveys of more than 7,500 scientists, public and private institutions, policy makers and journalists from around the world.
