Fred Hattermann appointed as Honorary Professor in Eberswalde

01/09/2024 - Fred Hattermann, Working Group Leader of 'Hydroclimatic Risks' at Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, has been appointed to a Honorary Professorship of Climate Change and Hydrology by the Department of Forestry and Environment at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development end of last year.

The long-standing partnership between Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development and PIK, including in the Global Change Management course, will thus be further strengthened. The appointment of the professorship was celebrated with an introductory lecture on "Climate and water - conflict and cooperation" by Fred Hattermann for students and employees. At the end of the event, Prof. Hattermann was presented with the certificate by the Director of the University.

This particular lecture is part of the KonKoop Colloquium on Natural Resources and Conflicts. In the KonKoop competence network "Cooperation and Conflict in Eastern Europe", the partner organizations examine various conflict constellations and dynamics of cooperation in Eastern Europe, South-Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus.
