"KlimafolgenOnline” does not show forecasts but scenarios: information on a possible future if climate change is not mitigated. Responding to the present development of greenhouse gas emissions and temperatures, the projections are based on a warming of 3.6 to 4.1 degrees Celsius until 2100 in Germany. Data for several regional climate impact models was generated with the computer simulation STARS.
During its pilot phase, “KlimafolgenOnline” is to be improved and expanded in collaboration with its users until the end of 2013. The website was first presented in Germany on a Conference on Climate Impacts at Humboldt-University in September in Berlin.
