102. German Catholic Convention (Katholikentag) "Sharing life" after two years of pandemic

The 102nd German Catholics' Day will be held in Stuttgart from May 25 to 29. It will be hosted by the diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart and organized by the Central Committee of German Catholics. Under the motto "sharing life", encounters are to be made possible again after almost two and a half years of pandemic. Adveniat, the Latin America relief organization of the Catholic Church in Germany, will focus on climate change and the importance of the Amazon with a panel discussion. PIK Director Ottmar Edenhofer will participate in this discussion, along with other guests.

Ottmar Edenhofer will be speaking on Friday, May 27 at two discussion: From 11-12:30 am on market economies and growth theories, and fro, 4:30-6 pm on Averting the Climate Collaps.

The Katholikentag program includes around 1,500 events. Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Olaf Scholz will also be guests. High-ranking church representatives such as the chairman of the German Bishops' Conference, Bishop Georg Bätzing, and the chairwoman of the Council of the Evangelical Church (EKD), Annette Kurschus, have also confirmed their attendance.
