This October, the ice theme of ERSU warmly welcomes Leonie Röntgen from the Nils Bohr Institute (NBI) at the University of Copenhagen and the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) as a guest scientist at PIK for a two-month stay to learn more about the Parallel Ice Sheet Model PISM and the TIPMIP project from an Earth system model perspective.
Taking this as an occasion to reconnect with a network of PISM enthusiasts from Copenhagen, including NBI, DMI and from the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS), the ice theme of ERSU hosted a one-day meeting with a focus on PISM model initializations and climatic forcing for various PISM applications in Greenland and Antarctica. Our meeting resulted in fruitful exchanges with lots of ideas for follow-on meetings, workshops and engagement within the PISM community.
