31/08/2026 - Dr Friederike Lenel has been appointed to the Development Economics Committee (Entwicklungsökonomischen Ausschuss). This committee is dedicated to research and the critical discussion of research findings and relevant issues in the field of development theory and development policy.
The Development Economics Committee aims to ensure that its members address issues of development economic theory and policy with commitment and expertise in both research and teaching. The committee members meet once a year at the GDE Conference (which is partly open to non-members as well) and supports Early Career Scientists by awarding the EDEG Best Paper Award for Early Career Researchers. Furthermore, the Committee seeks to foster dialogue with practitioners in the field of development policy.
