18/03/2020 - Femke Lutz successfully defended her PhD thesis entitled: "Tilling the earth: modelling global N2O emissions caused by tillage" at Wageningen University.
Processes related to agricultural management have so far been underrepresented in global ecosystem models. Femke's thesis delivers a valuable contribution to the representation of agricultural management in global ecosystem models.
With this contribution, the potential of agricultural based mitigation practices can be better quantified. The thesis focuses more specifically on tillage and N2O emissions. The thesis includes a publication in Ecological Modelling, in Geoscientific Model Development and a manuscript under review in Geoscientific Model Development.
