The Covid-19 pandemic that took over the world in 2020 lead to an international health and economic crises and at the same time revealed the inability of governments to respond to global challenges including climate change. The voices rise demanding new approaches to managing global threats. In their article titled “A ‘Triple T Transition’ to a sustainable recovery” by EPICC Project Lead Dr. Kira Vinke and Bart W. Edes, discuss the commitments introduced by various governments in response to the economic challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic and the way they embed sustainability targets. The authors further suggest complementing government commitments with cross-sectoral movement in a Triple T Transition strategy to “create win-win options for economic prosperity and social resilience, while connecting different levels of policy”.
