Darius investigates policy instruments to incentivise deep-decarbonising technology deployment in the basic materials - primarily steel and cement - industry. To this end, he focuses on firms' green investment decisions under technology and policy uncertainty. In addition, he looks at pathways for the integration of Carbon Dioxide Removals into the EU's climate policy architecture.

Darius' research contributes to the Kopernikus project Ariadne.
