Dr. Jan Philipp Dietrich

Jan Philipp Dietrich is Co-Leader and Lead Research Software Engineer of the Land-Use Transition Lab. He has a focus on numerical modelling, research software engineering and open and reproducible research. Besides that he is interested in all kinds of land use related cross scale interactions (spatial or temporal) such as technological change, forest management or biodiversity.

He is principal developer and founding father of the MADRaT data processing framework, creator of various other data science R packages, as well as lead software architect of the MAgPIE model.
