Dr. Nico Bauer

Senior Scientist
Bauer

Nico Bauer is engaged in the development of modelling tools and scientific publishing. He is responsible for the cross-cut group on Scenario Feasibility of energy, land-use and economic transformation pathways and related policies.

Currently he is in leading position for the EU-NAVIGATE Project and the PEGASOS project on global coal phase-out policies.

He co-lead the 33rd model comparison of Standford Energy Modeling Forum on bioenergy and climate change mitigation (EMF-33). He lead the energy group of the Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs).

Nico Bauer prepared his PhD-thesis guided by Ottmar Edenhofer. He returned to PIK in May 2007 after working at Fondazione ENI Enrico Mattei (FEEM), Italy, in the Climate Change Modelling and Policy programme and Paul-Scherrer Institute (PSI), Switzerland, in the Energy Economics Modelling (EEM) group.
