Robert Pietzcker China

Robert Pietzcker hat am PIK zum Thema "Erreichbarkeit stringenter Klimaschutzziele" promoviert. Im Mittelpunkt seiner Forschungsarbeit steht die Integration der variablen erneuerbaren Energien Wind und Solar in Stromsysteme, sowie die Abbildung dieser Integrationsherausforderungen in großskaligen energieökonomischen Modellen. Weitere Forschungsinteressen umfassen Emissionsminderungen im Verkehrssektor, die Entwicklung von Szenarien der zukünftigen Energienachfrage und der Bedeutung von Energieeffizienz, sowie Technologieentwicklung und Lernkurven in Energiesystemmodellen.

Robert Pietzcker joined the PIK Research Domain “Sustainable Solutions” as PhD student after working as a short-term consultant with McKinsey & Company. Previously, he studied physics at University of Freiburg as well as McGill University in Montreal, Canada, before graduating with a Diploma from University of Jena.
