1. Processing of Application Data

If you wish to apply for a job with Potsdam-Institut für Klimafolgenforschung (PIK) e.V. ("us" or "we"), we will process your application data. Including all data, such as your contact data, curriculum vitae, certificates, references and publications which you make available to us within the scope of the application procedure. We are not planning to process special categories of personal data concerning you. If you also provide us with such personal data, then the processing by us will also cover such data.

1.1 Purpose and Legal Basis

We are processing your personal data for purposes of conducting an application procedure. Your personal data shall be processed exclusively for this purpose. The legal basis of this data processing is Art. 26 GDPR in conjunction with Art. 88 EU-GDPR.

1.2 Duration of Data Recording and Storage

We will erase your personal data provided to us for application purposes not later than six months after having rejected your application.

If we accept your application and you are employed, we will record and store your personal data for a maximum period of up to six years after termination of the employment relationship.

If you give your consent to a recording and storage duration exceeding the above-mentioned period, we will record and store your personal data - circumstances permitting - also for a longer period in accordance with your consent.

1.3 Consequences of Non-Provision

The provision of personal data is required to enter into an employment agreement with you. You are not obliged to provide us with your personal data. If you do not provide us with your personal data, which are required for the selection procedure or the conclusion of an employment agreement, it is possible that we cannot consider you in the application procedure.

1.4 Recipients of Personal Data

We will not disclose your personal data to third parties within the scope of the application procedure.

2. Rights of the Data Subject

If your personal data are processed, then you are a data subject within the meaning of the EU-GDPR and you shall have rights vis-à-vis the Controller. You will find them in the general Privacy Policy of PIK.
