Facebook connects more than 3 billion people through its platforms and apps and now, in order to counter widespread climate change misinformation, aims at offering reliable information from scientific sources. The Climate Science Information Center works similar to the already existing COVID-19 information hub, which has so far referred more than 2 billion people directly to information from health authorities. As a special area on Facebook, the new hub collects information from some of the world's leading climate research organizations. The Facebook Climate Science Information Center will kick off in the US, UK, France and Germany and will soon be introduced in other countries as well.
