Call for Abstracts: Conference on Socio-Economic Metabolism organized by PIK

Socio-economic metabolism focuses on quantifying the physical exchanges of energy and materials among social and natural systems, its socio-economic organization and its socio-economic and environmental impacts. The conference is to explore the interfaces to novel and innovative research areas – from resource use and climate change, circular economy, urban metabolism, wellbeing within planetary boundaries, sustainable mining, trade and embodied impacts, digitalization and resource use. The SEM conference series is unique in its more than 20 years history of bringing together the leaders, the mid- and the early carrier scientists of an initially rather small interdisciplinary academic field that has gained enormous momentum in the past few years.

The conference will take place from 13 - 15 May 2019 at the historic Harnack House, Berlin. Weblink to the Conference Website: https://www.isiesem2019.org/
