On May 3rd and 4th, 2022, the Federal Foundation of Building Culture is organizing the Convention of Building Culture in the Schiffbauergasse in Potsdam.

The convention forms the central forum for forming opinions at the Federal Foundation of Building Culture. Every four years, the members of the convention are reappointed, up to 350 personalities with an extraordinary commitment to building culture. In addition to sponsors and sponsors of nationally important prizes in the field of building culture, this includes builders, planners from all disciplines, manufacturers, building contractors and people who convey and constructively support building culture. The members of the convention bring the topics of building culture into society and are therefore of central importance in the network of the federal foundation. The meeting is open to the public and offers the opportunity to exchange ideas with builders and Baukultur mediators from all over Germany.

PIK Director Emeritus, John Schellnhuber, will hold a keynote speech at the convention. Since 2019, Schellnhuber has been working intensively on the transformation of the built environment and the potential of wooden buildings as carbon sinks. He is co-founder of Bauhaus der Erde and member of the New European Bauhaus High-level Roundtable. As part of the 2022 Convention, the members of the Convention will be newly appointed and their representatives elected to the Board of Trustees and Advisory Board of the Federal Foundation.

In addition to these central events, the two-day event consists of a comprehensive program. The "base camp of building culture" offers several open forums and thus work formats and discussion rounds on various focus topics. A cultural program rounds off this nationally central event for building culture.
