Ich bin quantitativer Modellierer im Land Use Transition Lab (LUTL), wo ich zur Wartung und Weiterentwicklung des MAgPIE-Modells beitrage. Mein wissenschaftlicher Hintergrund liegt in der Gemeinschaftsoekologie und der oekologischen Modellierung. Nach meiner Promotion an der Universitaet Potsdam war ich zudem einige Zeit am Deutschen Zentrum fuer integrative Biodiversitaetsforschung (iDiv) in Leipzig taetig, wo ich einen Vergleich (Intercomparison) von Modellen zur Assemblierung von Pflanzengemeinschaften entwickelt habe.
In meiner Arbeit hier im LUTL konzentriere ich mich darauf, die Abbildung der Kohlenstoff- und Stickstoffkreislaufe in MAgPIE weiter zu vertiefen. Meine aktuellen Aktivitaeten drehen sich um die Integration von Walddegradation in MAgPIE sowie um die Verbesserung unserer Darstellungen von Ueberschreitungen der planetaren Belastungsgrenzen, insbesondere im Hinblick auf Stickstoff.
