Momtazi is a researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), working on marine biodiversity and ecosystem functioning within the Planetary Boundary Science project. She holds a PhD in Animal Biosystematics and has experience in marine biodiversity research, biogeography, and species distribution modelling. Her research focuses on understanding global patterns of marine biodiversity and how environmental and climate change affect biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. Within the Planetary Boundary Science project, she contributes to assessing marine biosphere integrity and exploring approaches to quantify biodiversity changes and their implications for ocean ecosystems.
