Maria Zeitz

Doctoral Researcher
Zeitz

In July 2017 I started my PhD with Prof. Dr. Ricarda Winkelmann and Dr. Jonathan Donges on the tipping point of the Greenland Ice sheet and how it will affect Antarctica.

My dissertation is embedded in the project DominoES - Domino Effects in the Earth System: Can Antarctica tip climate policy? DominoES is a joint project by the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and the Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences (GESIS) funded by the Leibniz Association (2017-2020).

Moreover, I am excited to share my knowledge about the climate with a broad public.

  • Ice-sheet dynamics and processes in the Greenland Ice Sheet
  • Co-development of the Parallel Ice Sheet Model (PISM)
  • Earth system resilience (ERAlab)
