At PIK I research cities in the climate change context. This includes (i) urban carbon emissions and how cities can contribute to mitigating climate change, (ii) climate impacts in cities and how cities can adapt to unavoidable climate change, (iii) urban climate and the heat island effect, and (iv) cities as complex systems.
I am the deputy head of the Urban Transformations group.

Please contact me in case you are interested in writing a master-thesis in the context of cities or other fields. Note that the work has mostly a quantitative character and programming skills are required in most cases.
