Abhijeet holds a master degree in Nutrition and Rural Development with a major in Rural Economics and Management from Universiteit Gent, Belgium and a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation from University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, India. He is also a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Life Sciences, Humboldt University, Berlin.

He joined PIK in the fall of 2016 as a PhD researcher under RD3 flagship “Landuse management”. The focus  of his PhD is on forestry and climate change in an integrated assessment perspective. He is working towards the integration of dynamic forestry sector in the open-source land-use model MAgPIE.
