Dr. Abhijeet Mishra

Mishra

Abhijeet holds a Doctorate in Agricultural Sciences from the Faculty of Life Sciences, Humboldt University, Berlin, based on his research on role of forestry in global land use scenarios for mitigating climate change. He also holds a master's degree in Nutrition and Rural Development with a major in Rural Economics and Management from Ghent University, Belgium and a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation from University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, India.

He joined PIK in the fall of 2016 as a PhD researcher under RD3 flagship “Land-use management”. The focus of his PhD research was on quantifying the mitigation potential of timber cities and global forest protection policies by integrating a dynamic forestry sector in the open-source land-use model MAgPIE.
