MSc. Edna J. Molina Bacca

Doctoral Researcher
Molina Bacca

I joined the Land-use management team (RD3) in September 2019 as a Doctoral researcher. My work focuses on studying the impacts of global change  (climate change and socio-economic development) on land use and agricultural adaptation on various scales, such as local, regional, and global. To analyze and model these phenomena, I utilize the MAgPIE framework. Additionally, I am a member of the Land Use Models (LUMs) team working on generating high-resolution land-use and agricultural management projections for ISIMIP's 3b round.

Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences at the Faculty of Life Sciences at Humboldt University, Berlin. Prior to this, I earned a BSc. Degree in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Colombia (Bogota, Colombia). Additionally, I completed an MSc. degree, also in Chemical Engineering, at the University of Calgary (Calgary, Canada). During my master's program, my thesis' was related to the optimal sizing and geographic placement of various components of microgrids (e.g., wind turbines, photovoltaic cells, batteries, and diesel generators) for isolated and grid-connected communities.
