Hermann Lotze-Campen appointed in two scientific committees

11/11/2022 - Professor Hermann Lotze-Campen was appointed to the SASSCAL (Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Managment) Scientific Advisory Council and re-appointed to the steering council of the German SDSN (Sustainable Development Solutions Network).
Hermann Lotze-Campen appointed in two scientific committees

The Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management (SASSCAL) is a joint initiative of Angola, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and Germany and aims to exchange knowledge on and solutions to the challenges of global change, particularly in the southern African region. The SAC (Scientific Advisory Committee) advises the governing board of SASSCAL on any questions related to the scientific work of the initiative.

The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) supports and enables it's members to help realise the Sustainable Development Goals through education, enabling collaborations between experts and media outlets and publishing policy recommendations. The SDSN steering council consists of up to twelve members, representing to a large extent member organisations of SDSN Germany and advising the network on all content-related matters. Professor Lotze-Campen was re-elected as a member of the this Council for the next two years.

Professor Lotze-Campen, co-head of the Climate Resilience Department (RD2) at PIK will, together with other experts support and advise the management of these two highly relevant initiatives in the upcoming years.
