04/05/2022 - The fifth edition of the Planetary Health Academy "Planetary Health in the clinical context -Part II" started off on May 4 2022 with a lecture on 'Planetary health in the light of current global events' by Dr. Lisa Pörtner (PIK - Climate Resilience), Prof.Dr. Hermann Lotze-Campen (PIK- Climate Resilience), Prof. Dr. Harald Lesch (LMU München) and Dr. Martin Herrmann (KLUG)

The Planetary Health Academy aims to educate, train and inform doctors, trainees, students and all other employees in the health sector on the importance of a healthy planet to our own health.  Through online lectures, the academy advocates the need for social change that will allow us to live "healthy lives on a healthy planet".

The fifth iteration of the 'Planetary Health Academy', started off with a lecture on 'Planetary Health in the light of current global events' (Planetary health im Angesicht des aktuellen Weltgeschehens) co-lead by RD2-Climate Resilience scientists Dr Lisa Pörtner and Prof. Hermann Lotze-Campen and featured other inspiring lectures by a.o. Dr Eckart von Hirschhausen and Christoph Biemann.

Lisa Pörtner hosted another lecture on 'Health aspects of plant-based nutrition and nutrition transformation' (Gesundheitliche Aspekte Pflanzenbasierter Ernährung und Ernährungstransformation) with Dr. Christian Kessler (Immanuel Krankenhaus Berlin) and Dr. Gesa Maschkowski (Universität Bonn).
