The workshop analysed the latest Climate Change Risk Assessment (CCRA3), which will play a key role in the development of the third 'National Agricultural Policy'(NAP3) of the United Kingdom. UK Government officials are keen to integrate new content on cross-border climate change risks within the context of NAP3 and discussed with experts the climate change risks in four key areas of the CCRA3 food security from overseas climate change impacts; international trade routes; risk to the UK finance sector from climate change impacts overseas and the amplification of these risks cascading across sectors and borders.

Christopher Reyer was invited to join as the project lead of the project 'CASCADES' (Cascading climate risks: towards adaptive and resilient European societies) and expert in climate risk assessments. He talked about the importance of including non-linear impacts and biophysical feedbacks in risk assessments, and the interaction of mitigation and adaptation measures.
