Profile

Lisa Murken studied International Relations at TU Dresden and the University of Nice - Sophia Antipolis (BA) and holds a MSc in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Prior to joining PIK she worked as a consultant on disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation for the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.

She is part of the working group on Adaptation in Agricultural Systems, where she supports with the coordination of the Agrica project and conducts research on adaptive capacity and adaptation strategies in the agriculture sector in Sub-Sahara Africa. Her research interests also include socio-economic impacts of climate change, linked to food insecurity, migration and conflict. More specifically, she analyses land tenure systems and resource governance dynamics with regard to climate change adaptation and wider agricultural resilience.
