Lisa Murken is a doctoral researcher in the working group Adaptation in Agricultural Systems, with a focus on climate change adaptation in the agricultural sector and socio-economic impacts of climate change.

In her doctoral research Lisa analyses the effects of different land tenure systems on farmers' ability to adapt to climate change in sub-Saharan Africa, drawing on econometric methods applied to household panel data and methods for qualitative data analysis. Her PhD is funded by the German National Academic Foundation.

Lisa studied International Relations at TU Dresden and the University of Nice - Sophia Antipolis (BA) and holds a MSc in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Prior to joining PIK she worked as a consultant for disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation at the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.
