Description of input files

Several control and data files are required to operate the model simulation. They are subdivided into the ones that depend on a special site and the ones that do not depend on a site. Definite endings are being proposed in order to create a clear abstract.

It is recommended that the input files be grouped together in a directory with the default name input, which is located in the working directory (the directory containing the program to be executed). In principle, however, the name and location of the input files is arbitrary. In any case the path of the file must be specified.

Overview to all input files and their identifiers:

Not depending on a special site:

    *.sim    simulation control

    *.par    parameter files (i. e. species.par)

    *.man   management file +

Depending on a special site:

    *.cli      climate data files

    *.ini      stand initialization

    *.sop    location and soil parameter

    *.dep   deposition data file

    *.red    N reduction parameter

    *.lit      litter data files

*.con    control file for multi runs

Additional file with necessary parameters:
    generreg.par - download download

This file contains parameters, which are necessary for the initialization of all available species (see 4C description, Chapter 2.4.1.1). The name of this file is mandatory and it is not listed in the simulation control file. The file has to be placed in the directory input of the working directory.

Examples

Examples and valid files are stored in the directory
https://gitlab.pik-potsdam.de/foresee/4C/tree/master/test_data_sets/4C_testing.

The examples are described in the file test_4C_manual.pdf
