Entry point III

Appraising adaptation options

Entering the adaptation learning cycle at the stage of appraising adaptation options requires that an adaptation problem has been articulated and options for addressing it identified. Now, you must appraise and decide between adaptation options (or alternatives, strategies, actions). There is a wealth of methods from the fields of organisational learning, decision analysis, policy analysis, institutional and behavioural analysis that may be applied towards this end and this section guides you through selecting an appropriate approach, distinguishing between formal and informal approaches
