The climate impact register (CIR) involves a collection of literature, observations and results from projects referring to the context of changing climate conditions and the vivified environment in the past and future. The register is a data base and besides bibliographical information there is specific analysis about climatic effects. Changes of temperature, precipitation, duration of sunshine and resulting impacts are listed by means of specific values, thresholds or equations. ⇒ more
Agriculture. Since agricultural production is directly affected by climate conditions, the relation between climate and food production attracts high attention. Therefore there are numerous historical records describing this relation. Besides the collection of historical publications the CIR contains results from project partners of INKA-BB with simulation results of various climate scenarios.

Forestry. The emphasis of this thematic complex is the analysis of climate impacts on forest eco-systems in the north-eastern area of Germany. The CIR includes information about records which describe the relation between the productivity and growth of forests and tree varieties under specific climatic conditions. Based on the sensitivity of forest eco systems to climate changes general relations are pronounced.

Plant diseases and pests. The CIR contains the results of our literature search regarding the influence of changing climatic conditions on the impacts of plant diseases and pests. Mainly, literature about climatic influen-
ces on pests and pathogens of agricultural and horticultural crops like the Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say) and potato late blight (Phytoph-
thora infestans (Mont.) de Bary
) of potatoes, and apple diseases like apple scab (Venturia inae-
qualis (Cooke) G.W.
) were analyzed.

Human medicine. This section of the CIR comprises research within the human medical area of environmental medicine concerning the relationship between disease and climate. The records are categorized according to especially relevant disease or climatic factors. The following factors of disease associated with climate impacts are taken into account: thermal load, viral or bacterial infection, allergenic, carcinogenic and toxic reaction.
