The climate impact register (CIR) involves a collection of literature, observations and results from projects referring to the context of changing climate conditions and the vivified environment in the past and future. The register is a data base and besides bibliographical information there is specific analysis about climatic effects. Changes of temperature, precipitation, duration of sunshine and resulting impacts are listed by means of specific values, thresholds or equations.

The register is an output of the KLIMZUG-project INKA-BB. This project refers with its results to the area of Berlin and Brandenburg and therefore the emphasis of the CIR was first put on this area. By continuously adding new resources, the CIR now includes numerous information of climate change impacts on agriculture, forestry, phytomedicine and human health for Germany and Europe, sometimes with special reference to the area of Berlin and Brandenburg. The register will be upgraded continuously and other themes are decided to be involved.

The language of the CIR is German. The access to the publications will be provided by the library of ALBERT. The majority of the bibliographic information refers to publications which had been published before 1980 and most of them were written in German, some records are even in Sütterlin.
