Location
Definition
Names of places which may be used for searching
Syntax
Location: [Location Valid] > [text]
Specifications
- This field may be repeated as often as necessary.
- Locations must be selected from the Location Valids: see
Appendix A. Only the Location Valid selected from the list is
searchable through controlled search mechanisms.
- More specific names may be added following the location valid,
separated by ">". These more specific names should not be selected from
the Location Valids list. Up to 80 characters of additional text are
permitted. Characters may be selected from the printable ASCII character
set, except ">".
Recommendations
- While the more specific locations are not searchable through
controlled search mechanisms, they are searchable through free-text
search mechanisms. Thus, specific locations should be entered whenever
appropriate.
